Why BG Christian?
Few decisions have the lasting impact on your child as that of school choice. It is during their school days that life-long friendships will be made, spiritual formation will take place, and values will be instilled. BG Christian Academy is here to partner with you in making those days the very best that they can be.
Attending BG Christian, your child will benefit from a faith-based curriculum that challenges students to achieve their best, using phonics based spelling and language arts, classical mathematics, a hands-on science curriculum and more. Our average student/teacher ratio is 15-1, and our standard for class size is 20-1. We are also proud to be the only Preschool through 12th grade private Christian school in Wood County, and one of Niche.com’s 2023 Best Private Schools in Wood County - among their top 20% of schools!

Enrollment at BG Christian
BG Christian Academy seeks Christian families who are looking for education from a Christian worldview, and students with a solid academic record who will benefit from high-quality, distinctively Christian education as they develop into lifelong disciples who know their unique identity and purpose in Christ. Applications are accepted on a continual basis for grades Preschool through 12 as space is available (some restrictions apply).
Admittance for grades K-12 is based on academic and social performance, current and previous years’ grade cards, and the family’s commitment to the mission of BG Christian. See our Admissions Criteria page for more information including Intervention Services.

5 Simple Steps to the Admissions Journey
Complete Student Assessment
An entrance assessment is required for all Kindergarten - 12th grade applicants to ensure their success in our programs. Testing typically takes 60-90 minutes to complete and is scheduled through our Admissions Office.
Meet Our Head of School
In the final step of the admissions process, each family will be scheduled for a family conference. This conference is conducted by our Head of School with each student's parent/guardian, and any middle or high school student.
Make it Official!
Upon completion of all required steps, families will be notified in writing of the final admission decision. Once admission is granted, families will complete their enrollment packet and pick their payment plan online through FACTS. Students are not fully enrolled until this step is completed.
THE GRILLS FAMILY
"As a family that originally started schooling at home, making the decision to transition to a “brick and mortar” school was a big one. The two key things that we began looking for in a school were small classes in a tight knit school community, and strong Christian values and teachings. Bowling Green Christian Academy had both of these keys."
Availability & Wait Pool
School Year 2024-2025
Current Availability
Enrollment interest in BG Christian Academy is at an all time high. This is exciting for our school community, but can also present some unique challenges for families interested in pursuing enrollment at our school. We value our ‘right size’ approach with small class sizes, student to teacher ratios, and scheduling flexibility. Because of this, there is a predetermined classroom capacity for every grade level in our school.
So, how do we navigate maintaining the mission of BG Christian while also responding to this record enrollment interest? Transparent enrollment status communication! Please see below for the enrollment status of each of our grade levels and next steps you can take.
Wait Pool
When applications for enrollment at BG Christian exceed classroom capacity, accepted students may be placed in a wait pool. Our goal is to maintain optimal class size in each grade level and the wait pool process helps to achieve this goal. BG Christian’s wait pool is an unranked group of students who have been accepted to the school, and who we prayerfully hope will be able to join our school family.
Please note that this is a wait pool (as contrasted with a waitlist). Accepted students will not be offered enrollment on a “first-come, first served” basis. Accepted students will be offered enrollment as space becomes available based upon the following priority hierarchy:
-
Children of Faculty and Staff
-
Siblings of currently enrolled BG Christian families
-
Siblings of new application students
-
Children of BG Christian Alumni
-
New applicants
While seats may become available anytime throughout the school year due to life changes (moving, etc), there are key time frames to note in the wait pool process.
-
November - Admissions applications for the upcoming school year open
-
March – The reenrollment period of current families for the upcoming school year ends in February. Wait pool families can typically expect to be notified of grade level openings beginning in March for the upcoming year.
-
May - all enrolled families can expect to pay their class fees this month. After May, class fees are due within 14 days of completed enrollment.
-
June – The first tuition payment for the upcoming school year is due in June with the last payment due in May of that school year. Grade level openings may occur after the first tuition payment cycle, and will be budgeted out to end in May if a monthly payment plan is chosen. See our Tuition Page for details.
We will keep families in the wait pool posted if spaces become available. Please note that we always welcome students to reapply next season if we have not been able to offer them admission from the wait pool.
BG Christian Academy has developed the following process for any family pursuing enrollment in a grade level that is nearing or currently at enrollment capacity:
-
After a personal tour on campus, applicants must complete the Admissions application process, including testing, and new family conference.
-
Upon acceptance into a wait pool status grade, families have three business days to confirm being added to the wait pool for a specific grade level.
-
If a seat opens in the grade level, families will be notified via email and phone. Families will have 48 hours to enroll before the seat is offered to another family in the wait pool.
-
Families in the wait pool receive the same non-discrimination status as all families in our school. This statement can be found at the bottom of this page.
